I have always lived with hand made pots around me, both my own and others. How they feel and look when you hold them, drink, and eat from them is an important part of the design process. This experience, for me, is a way of life.

My work has progressed over the years as a thrower, with changing approaches to the clay until I finally found the magic and heartache of Porcelain. Once tried however, it had me hooked, its' softness, purity and continual reminder that it was in charge and would only be coaxed into forms by patience and perseverance. Over the years it has fascinated me with its' translucency, beauty and history.

The idea that clay has evolved over thousands of years, been dug up, fashioned by hand, fired and then used and admired everyday, is part of the continual fascination and passion that I have for this most natural of material.

From Earth to clay, clay to form, form to life. Between the clay, the hand and the wheel, lies the magic.
